NOTICE TO THE MARKET
São Paulo, January 20, 2015 - Braskem (BM&FBovespa: BRKM5, BRKM3, BRKM6; NYSE: BAK; LATIBEX: XBRK) announces to its shareholders and the market that its production was not affected by the variation in load of the Brazilian electricity grid that occurred on this Monday afternoon, January 19, 2015.
In addition, the Company informs that, despite the presidential veto to the article in the Provisional Measure (MP) 656/14 regarding the extension of the Chesf’s electricity supply contract with Northeast industries, the federal government announced that it will discuss alternatives with the electro-intensive industry until the expiration of the current contract in June 2015.
In this context, Braskem will seek a solution that ensures the competitiveness of energy costs and the viability of its electro-intensive operations in the Northeast region of Brazil.
