Item 7.01 Regulation FD Disclosure.

On December 30, 2010, John B. Yowell, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. (the "Company"), unexpectedly passed away. Prior to his appointment to his current position in January 2008, Mr. Yowell had served the Company in various senior management positions since joining the Company in 1983.

The Company intends to implement the succession plan previously approved by its Board of Directors at the appropriate time.
