This refers to a news report published in today's issue (6th January) of The Philippine Star that cited unnamed sources as stating that Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) is seeking to acquire a majority stake in GMA Network Inc. We would like to state that Smart is not engaged in any discussions with GMA7 or with any other television network for that purpose."
