(b) On March 17, 2008, Mr. Alan R. Batkin informed Diamond Offshore Drilling, Inc. (the “Company”) that Mr. Batkin, for personal reasons, including his other professional commitments, will not stand for re-election as a Director at the end of his current term, which will expire in conjunction with the Company’s 2008 Annual Meeting of Stockholders.
