On March 14, 2008, Russell M. Gertmenian notified Abercrombie & Fitch Co. (the “Company”) that
he had decided not to stand for re-election to the Board of Directors of the Company. Mr.
Gertmenian, who has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Company since 1999, cited
personal reasons, and not any disagreement with the Company, as the basis for his decision. Mr.
Gertmenian’s term as a director will expire at the 2008 Annual Meeting of Stockholders.
