The Nationally Recognized Non-Profit Provided Thousands of Women+ Throughout the Country with Resources and Actionable Tools to Navigate Their Career Challenges and Changes

NEW YORK, NY, December 08, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Take The Lead, a nationally recognized non-profit on a mission to prepare, develop, inspire, and propel all women+ of all diversities and intersectionalities to take their fair and equal share of leadership positions across all sectors by 2025, turned a year of disruption into one of hope and intentionality for professional women. In 2021, Take The Lead's courses, coaching, webinars, and original content put women at the center of the recovery while providing standard-setting training to companies to strengthen the support they offer to their employees.

The pillars and corresponding programming included:

Take The Lead Prepared

* Through its new Academy for Advanced Leadership, Take the Lead delivered six masterclasses plus Felicia Davis's powerful "Brand Your Brilliance" challenge. With support from The American Express Foundation and Salt River Project, 50 women in nonprofits were able to attend for free. The monthly subscription program will begin a new year of programming in 2022.

* Supported by the Tara Health Foundation, the second annual Power Up Conference went virtual and presented the latest on Diversity and Inclusion, including Brielle Valle's research on the impact of the pandemic on women in the workplace; an exclusive interview with CEO of Asian Americans Advancing Justice president John Yang; and a conversation on racial healing between Take The Lead Board Chair Dr. Nancy O'Reilly and Leadership Ambassador Felicia Davis.

* Take The Lead shifted its core "Leadership Power Tools" course into an online self-directed course and offered donor-supported scholarships to women whose careers have been disrupted by the pandemic.

* Take The Lead provided training or keynotes for organizations including Universal Music, Insight, Neuberger, Cerner, Epredia, Delaware Bio, The University of Arizona, The Rabbinical Assembly Professional Learning Community, and the Better Business Bureau.

Take The Lead Developed

* As part of its "50 Women Can Change the World In Journalism cohort Can + Will series," Take The Lead offered coaching to those needing support rethinking their career plans.

* To foster engagement and connection within its cohorts, Take The Lead initiated community management processes on digital platforms, an initiative funded in part by The Women's Collective.

Take The Lead Inspired

* Take The Lead's Editorial Director Michele Weldon created "Power to Change Stories," an ongoing feature where women share their stories of activism, overcoming challenges, and more. Take The Lead produced the first volume of 30 Power to Change Stories and to date, has published over 50 inspiring stories from women around the world.

* Acclaimed composer and pianist Marina Arsenijevic and actor and activist Rhodessa Jones donated their talents for the Concert For Women's Equality Day which drew over 100 participants and raised $100,000 for Take The Lead. Sponsors include Door Dash, The WMarketplace, and Arts Rock.

Take The Lead Propelled

* Feldt's new book Intentioning: Sex, Power, Pandemics, and How Women Will Take the Lead for (Everyone's) Good showcased nine new Leadership Intentioning Tools that will form the basis for a new Take The Lead course in 2022 to complement the nine Leadership Power Tools course.

* Take The Lead's work was bolstered by its growing roster of partnerships with WMarketplace, Troublemakers, Luminary, Gender Fair, Million Dollar Women, Center for Women in Law, Women Connect 4 Good, Journalism and Women Symposium, Corporate Learning Network, and Michael Stars, which generously donated $25,000.

"Because of our individual and corporate supporters, Take The Lead provided thousands of women with information, courses, and programs that help them rethink, retool, and refresh their careers," said Feldt. "I still believe we can reach gender parity in leadership by 2025 and I'm excited for what we'll achieve together in 2022."
