Ukrainian Art Shining Bright in NYC: “Diamond Jam” Illuminates Soho’s Art Scene

On a sunny Friday afternoon, November 4th, in the bustling heart of the Soho district, something truly magical began to unfold. "Diamond Jam," a brand new art show by “The First Ukrainian Gallery US,” had just opened its doors and had already captivated dozens of hearts with its unforgettable vibrancy and artistic richness. The newly opened gallery could hardly accommodate the excited crowd, all irresistibly drawn to the unique artworks behind the glass windows.

Everything about “Diamond Jam,” from its name and brand imagery to each participating artwork, is so fresh and captivating that you can't help but stop by and take a look inside. And as you cross the threshold, you find yourself in a masterfully curated art exhibition, with absolutely magnetizing artworks arranged in a remarkably gorgeous and tasteful manner.

Featuring 23 artists, “Diamond Jam” is a brilliant showcase of the depth and diversity of Ukrainian contemporary art. The art curators of the project had managed to bring together the most prominent Ukrainian artists, creating a truly unforgettable experience for the wide audience, from basic viewers to art professionals. Beautiful and thought-provoking, this exhibition had left an indelible mark on every visitor’s heart and mind.

From the renowned Soviet Nonconformism master Vachagan Narazyan to the young emerging portrait artist Valik Lapshin, from the tender and elegant Tata Kolesnik, inspired by the Italian Renaissance, to the bold and sensual Nina Murashkina and her Naive-inspired erotic art, influenced by Japanese and Indian mythology. This is the definition of “Diamond Jam”—dazzling and eclectic yet somehow incredibly harmonious.

The team behind “The First Ukrainian Gallery US” is passionate about amplifying the voice of Ukrainian culture and artistry in the Western world. “Russia's invasion turned our country into a headline, but Ukraine is so much more than just a constant news feed of battles and tragedies. Our homeland is a country bursting with creativity, passion, tenderness, tolerance, and a thirst for life, and we want the world to see it as such!” says Olga Severina, the Design Director of the project.

“Diamond Jam" is just the beginning of the year-long journey that its organizers aspire to embark upon. The profit from the artworks sold here will be invested in new exhibitions, with the goal of eventually establishing a firm Ukrainian art hub in the Big Apple. "We envision 'The First Ukrainian Gallery US' as a launching platform for artists and curators from Ukraine—a place where Ukrainian art can truly flourish," says Maria Manyulenko, the Art Curator and Managing Director of the project.

If you happen to be in New York City this November, don’t miss the chance to visit “Diamond Jam,” a unique showcase of contemporary Ukrainian artistry, and explore all the magnificent artworks before they are sold.
