Ategrity Specialty Insurance Announces New Property Product for Middle Market Companies

Ategrity Specialty Insurance Company – which recently announced an additional $75 million capital investment from Zimmer Financial Services Group – is launching a new commercial product for midsized companies: Middle Market Property. Targeted to businesses in the real estate, hospitality, retail, and manufacturing sectors with limited catastrophe exposure, Middle Market Property is part of the expanding product lines offered by Ategrity, a specialty property & casualty insurer which focuses on the excess and surplus (“E&S”) lines market.

The launch is the latest step in Ategrity’s plan to develop a suite of products to meet the growing demand from small and medium-size firms for tailored risk management that is aligned to the complexity and scale of their operations. David Phelps will lead the Middle Market Property practice, heading up the company’s second dedicated Middle Market team. Earlier this year the company launched its Middle Market Casualty product, led by Jennifer Clemenson.

“Over the past year, the company has made strategic investments to build out capabilities for the middle market and establish a clear path to growth in this area,” said Chris Schenk, Chief Underwriting Officer at Ategrity.

“By having access to this amount of capital, we have been able to make significant investments in our underwriting infrastructure and analytics for all our solutions – allowing us to differentiate ourselves through our fast quotes, smart pricing, and terrific service,” said Schenk. “We have also brought on and cultivated great talent in pricing and product, who are helping us translate our offerings seamlessly into the middle market space.” In June, Ategrity hired Hannah Janney as Head of Pricing, and promoted Scott Noffsinger to Head of Product Innovation in March.

Schenk concluded, “Now, with additional investment in Ategrity, we can keep an eye to further expansion and deepen the relationships with our core brokers and agents.”

Ategrity launched in September 2018 and has a Financial Strength Rating of A- (Excellent) from A.M. Best.
