Newly independent organization enhances executive team with Chief Information Security Officer, Chief Human Resources Officer, Chief Legal Officer, interim Chief Financial Officer, and interim Chief Information Officer
Forcepoint Global Governments and Critical Infrastructure (G2CI) today announced the appointment of five cybersecurity industry veterans to its executive team. The company has named Joseph Bell as Chief Information Security Officer, Karen Clark as Chief Human Resources Officer, James Wallace as Chief Legal Officer, Jason Facer as interim Chief Financial Officer, and Greg Higham as interim Chief Information Officer.
The new executive appointments follow the acquisition of Forcepoint’s G2CI business by TPG, a global alternative asset management firm. As an independent company, Forcepoint G2CI will build upon its trusted platform by expanding the company’s capabilities and deep bench of expertise to better serve global government, critical infrastructure, and commercial customers in today’s increasingly complex cybersecurity landscape. Under the leadership of CEO Sean Berg, these new executives will play an important role in supporting Sean as they establish and grow Forcepoint G2CI as a standalone entity.
“As Forcepoint G2CI enters its next chapter as an independent company, we have aggressive growth goals to establish the business as a global market leader of comprehensive, next-generation cybersecurity for the defense, intelligence, critical infrastructure, and commercial industries,” said Berg. “Having a strong executive team – with proven expertise from some of the biggest names in cybersecurity – is essential for a fast-growth cyber company of this size. With Joseph, Karen, James, Jason, and Greg on board, we are not only deepening the strength of our leadership team, but also further establishing Forcepoint G2CI as a force in the global cybersecurity market.”
In his new role as CISO, Joseph Bell will tap into his two decades of information security experience to oversee the business’s security posture and enable innovation while protecting critical data. He most recently served as senior director at Verisign for the company’s information security and engineering teams, where he was responsible for protecting the .com, .net, and .gov domains.
Karen Clark re-joins the leadership team as CHRO, a role she previously held at Forcepoint and ShiftKey. As CHRO, Clark is responsible for all aspects of the human resources function including human capital strategy, talent acquisition, and talent development. Prior to Forcepoint, Clark served as Raytheon’s director of human resources and cyber products, where she successfully merged three Raytheon companies into the Raytheon Cyber Products organization and led talent management initiatives for leadership development and succession training.
James Wallace joins the G2CI leadership team as CLO. Wallace brings over 20 years of experience as a general counsel and legal advisor for leading defense and technology businesses. The former general counsel of various Raytheon businesses will be responsible for overseeing all legal matters for the business and will play a critical role in enabling the G2CI business to accelerate its compliance and contracting goals in the coming years.
Jason Facer has been named interim CFO. Facer is an accomplished industry executive who has extensive experience leading financial growth and strategy for IT organizations. Prior to Forcepoint G2CI, Facer served as both a controller and vice president at Cox Enterprises for 20 years, before entering the IT space as CFO at Navisite and vice president of finance at Presidio.
Additionally, Greg Higham has been named interim CIO. In this role, Higham will execute the IT strategy for the G2CI business, focusing on driving the innovation and optimization of technology investments for the company. Higham brings over 30 years of experience navigating the technology challenges of fast-growth organizations, and most recently served as CIO at Malwarebytes and Marketo.
