Affinity Federal Credit Union's Pledge to 'People Helping People' Takes Center Stage on Impact Day

Employees of Affinity and the Affinity Foundation will volunteer their time to support local organizations that make a difference in their communities

Affinity Federal Credit Union (“Affinity”) and its non-profit arm, The Affinity Foundation, are proud to announce its upcoming Impact Day on October 9, 2023. This day of service benefiting community organizations in 18 communities across the greater New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut area reflects Affinity’s year-round commitment to making a difference in the areas it serves, aligning with its philosophy of “people helping people” both inside and outside the walls of its branches.

Impact Day will kick off with employees gathering at their nearest Affinity branch, closed to the public for the day, as far south as Middletown, NJ, north up to Rockland County, NY, and east to New Haven, CT. Volunteers will watch a live town hall address from Affinity’s CEO and President, Kevin Brauer, before departing for an afternoon of service. Affinity team members will lend a hand at food pantries, senior centers, soup kitchens, and youth organizations, as well as roll up their sleeves to clean up a number of local parks. At the same time, remote employees are encouraged to volunteer at a local organization of their choice.

“We believe that our success is tied to the wellbeing of the communities we serve,” said Pam Cohen, Senior VP, People, Culture and Administration at Affinity Federal Credit Union “Through Impact Day, we highlight our unwavering commitment to community wellbeing, showing pride in the areas we serve, while giving back to these organizations to express our appreciation for their goodwill.”

“Through the five pillars of wellbeing – community, financial, career, physical and social – Affinity strives to pave the way for a more equitable society while always leaving its doors open to help members overcome financial challenges and reach their monetary goals,” said Kevin Brauer, CEO and President of Affinity Federal Credit Union. “Our institution remains steadfast in its charitable endeavors, furthering our dedication to making a positive impact across our communities into 2024 and beyond.”
