Introducing Domaine Evenstad: Expanding the Legacy of Evenstad Estates

Evenstad Estates is proud to announce the launch of Domaine Evenstad, a distinguished addition to the family of brands. Building upon the success of Domaine Serene in Oregon, Domaine Evenstad embodies the passion and dedication to the art of crafting exceptional Pinot Noir now extending to the prestigious terroirs of the Côte de Nuits.

In 2021, Grace Evenstad expanded her holdings in Burgundy through the acquisition of Domaine Christian Confuron et Fils, now Domaine Evenstad. This acquisition complements the Evenstad family’s purchase of Château de la Crée in 2015, located in the village of Santenay in the Côte de Beaune. Château de la Crée dates back to 1431 and was originally built by Nicolas Rolin, Chancellor to Philip the Good, Duke of Burgundy. This historic estate is open for tastings and tours and was the first Burgundy label under the family of brands.

Acquiring Domaine Evenstad was a 15-acre expansion increasing Evenstad Estates' vineyard footprint in the Côte d'Or by roughly 60%, adding vineyards in Chambolle-Musigny and Nuits-Saint-Georges to the family's holdings. These include prestigious Grand Cru blocks in Bonnes-Mares and Clos de Vougeot, some of the most coveted terroirs in the world.

“To own and farm Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards in the Côte de Nuits represents the achievement of a long-held vision and dream that Ken and I shared,” says Grace Evenstad. “Serving as the steward of this prestigious estate for our generation is a true privilege.”

The official launch event for Domaine Evenstad will take place this November at Domaine Evenstad tasting room and winery in Santenay, Burgundy. This exclusive event will provide guests with an opportunity to connect with the winemakers and taste the inaugural vintage from this collection. Wines will be available for purchase in France and introduced in the United States around spring of next year. Additionally, wine enthusiasts can look forward to a special preview of Domaine Evenstad wines at a World of Pinot Noir dinner event in 2025, marking the brand’s introduction to the U.S. market.
