The new BJ’s Wholesale Club in Mt. Juliet opened on December 15. The BJ’s Charitable Foundation announced the donation at Elzie D. Patton Elementary School. The Foundation is funding an expansion of the Wilson County School District’s weekend food backpack program. The program, run by the district’s Family Resource Center, supports over 1,200 students annually. The funding will help provide food packs for an additional 170 students in need.

“BJ’s Wholesale Club is committed to taking care of the families who depend on us,” said Emily McCann, Head of Community Relations, BJ’s Wholesale Club. “We are proud to provide Wilson County students the food they need to thrive.”

BJ’s Wholesale Club supports the communities where its team members live and work. The BJ’s Charitable Foundation has partnered with Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee to provide food for families in need. BJ’s has funded classroom projects in 14 Middle Tennessee schools, providing teachers and students the resources they need. BJ’s Charitable Foundation partners with DonorsChoose, a national non-profit organization, to help meet needs for classroom supplies.

“We are grateful to have BJ’s Wholesale Club as a new community partner,” said Jeff Luttrell, Director of Schools for Wilson County School District. “This generous donation will make a significant impact on our students and their families.”
